Tirumala Temple will remain closed during Chandra Grahanam on July 2019
In view of Chandra Grahanam which falls on July 17, 2019 the Tirumala temple will remain closed from 7 pm of July 16, 2019 till 5am of July 17, 2019
The lunar eclipse falls between 1.31am and 4.29am on July 17. But since it is a traditional practice to close the Tirumala temple six hours prior to eclipse, the temple remains closed from 6pm of July 16 till 5am of July 17.
But since, on July 17, Anivara Asthanam is also there, the Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be performed on July 16 between 6am and 11am. Following this fete, Asta Dala Pada Padmaradhana, Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara sevas are cancelled.
While on July 17, when the temple door opens at 5am after the Grahanam, suddhi punyahavachanam are performed while Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana and Koluvu will be performed in Ekantam. The Anivara Asthanam takes place between 7am and 9am at Bangaru Vakili. The Sarva Darshanam commences from 11am onwards. TTD has cancelled Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva in connection with Anivara Asthanam on July 17.
