சபரிமலை கோவிலில் மண்டல மற்றும் மகரவிளக்கு பூஜை காலத்தில் லட்சக்கணக்கான பக்தர்கள் சாமி தரிசனம் செய்ய வருவார்கள். இந்த ஆண்டு கொரோனா காரணமாக பக்தர்களுக்கு பல்வேறு கட்டுப்பாடுகள் விதிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளன.
திருவாபரண பெட்டி ஊர்வலம் இந்த ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 12-ந்தேதி பந்தளம் அரண்மனையில் இருந்து புறப்படுகிறது. கடந்த ஆண்டுகளை போன்று இந்த ஆண்டு ஊர்வலத்தில் பங்கேற்க அனைவருக்கும் அனுமதி இல்லை.

ஊர்வலத்தில் 100 பேர் மட்டுமே அனுமதிக்கப்படு வார்கள். ஊர்வலத்தில் பங்கேற்பவர்கள் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு பணியில் ஈடுபடும் போலீசார் உள்ளிட்ட அனைவரும் கொரோனா நெகட்டிவ் சான்றிதழ் கட்டாயமாக எடுத்திருக்க வேண்டும்.
திருவாபரண பெட்டிக்கு வழக்கமாக பல இடங்களில் வரவேற்பு கொடுக்கப்படும். ஆனால் இந்த ஆண்டு எந்த இடத்திலும் வரவேற்பு அளிக் கக்கூடாது. மேலும் தீபாரா தனையும் காட்டக்கூடாது. அவற்றிக்கு தடை விதிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது. திருவாபரண பெட்டியை தரிசனம் செய்ய பக்தர்களுக்கு அனுமதி இல்லை.
பந்தளத்தில் இருந்து புறப்படும் திருவாபரண பெட்டி ஊர்வலம் நேராக பம்பைக்கு செல்லும். வேறு எங்கும் தங்காது. மகர விளக்கு பூஜை முடிந்து திரும்பி வரும்போது பெரு நாடு காக்காடு கோயக்கல் கோவிலில் மட்டும் தீபா ராதனை காட்டப்படும்.
டிசம்பர் 31-ந்தேதி முதல் சபரிமலைக்கு வரும் பக்தர் களுக்கு ஆர்.டி.பி.சி.ஆர். மருத்துவ பரிசோதனை கட்டாயமாக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது. பரிசோதனைக்கு பின் கொரோனா இல்லை என்று உறுதி செய்யப்படும் பக்தர்கள் மட்டுமே சாமி தரிசனத்துக்கு அனுமதிக்கப் படுவார்கள்.
தரிசனத்துக்கு 48 மணி நேரத்துக்குள் எடுக்கப்பட்ட கொரோனா பரிசோதனைக் கான நெகட்டிவ் சான்றிதழை பக்தர்கள் கட்டாயம் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும். டிசம்பர் 31-தேதி முதல் ஜனவரி 19-ந்தேதி வரை இந்த நடைமுறை பின்பற்றப்படும்.
Makaravilakku is a light or flame that appears thrice on the Ponnambalamedu hill, four km away to the temple. Makara vilakku is man made. In earlier years , it was a pooja performed by tribesmen (mala arya) on the day of makarajyothi at ponnambalamedu. Now it is done by Kerala government with the support of Travancore devosom board and forest department. Kerala high court confirmed the fact. The ‘Makaravilakku’ at Kerala’s famous Sabarimala temple is man-made, as confirmed by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) that runs the temple in the Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR), in its submission to the Kerala High Court. The board told the court that since it is a traditional ritual, it could not be done away with. A bench comprising justices Thottathil Radhakrishnan and Shekhar allowed the board’s plea to conduct deeparadhana (evening pooja) instead of Makaravilakku at Ponnambalamedu, where the light appears. The court held that in view of the board’s admission about the Makaravilakku, there is no need for further investigations into the matter.
